Many restaurants are closed on Monday and Tuesday. Here are the ones that are open
Sarah GriesemerIn the restaurant industry, it is not unusual for eateries to be closed at the beginning of the week.
Mondays are often slow, thanks to work and school beginning anew, and owners often give employees the day off to recharge for the week ahead.
But current staffing issues have forced some restaurants to close additional days during the week. Since opening in 2019, The Edge in Jackson was closed Mondays. But soon after reopening following pandemic-induced closures, Louise and Phil Cornick decided to close Tuesdays and Sundays as well.
"We were painfully short-staffed, and providing our guests with an exceptional dining experience was paramount," Louise said. "Hopefully soon, workers will begin seeking employment once again and we can finally be fully staffed."

They are not alone. Other restaurants closed Mondays and Tuesdays include – but are not limited to – Moonstruck, Reyla, Langosta Lounge, Cross & Orange, The Galley, and Watermark in Asbury Park, Rare in Bradley Beach, Harvest in Farmingdale, Nettie's House of Spaghetti in Tinton Falls and Chef Mike's ABG in Seaside Park.
But if you find yourself craving dinner out early in the week, worry not: We've compiled a list of more than 50 Shore restaurants that are open Mondays and Tuesdays — at least for now. Call before you go to confirm that the restaurant has not changed its schedule.
