Philippine Malditas final roster set for AFC Women's Asian Cup qualifiers

The Philippine Malditas return to action as they open their qualifying campaign for the 2022 AFC Women's Asian Cup on Saturday in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Leading the 22-player lineup are veterans such as captain Inna Palacios, Hali Long, and Camille Rodriguez, as well as five new recruits, two of whom come from the national youth team pipeline in goalkeeper Isabelle Mapanao and Arianna LePage.

The top-seeded Filipinas will take on Nepal and Hong Kong on September 18 and September 24, respectively, at the JAR Stadium in Tashkent.

Only the top-ranked team after the single-round robin will proceed to the AFC Women's Asian Cup in January in Mumbai, India.

Headed by coach Marlon Maro, the Malditas spent majority of August and early part of September for a training camp and tryouts in Irvine, California.
