Paul Pogba's Brother Gives An Update On His Manchester United Future

Paul Pogba's Brother Gives An Update On His Manchester United Future

Cristiano Ronaldo's arrival has reportedly impacted Pogba's feelings on his future but it's in doubt until he signs a contract extension.

Paul Pogba's future is still up in the air, after his brother appeared to deny claims that the midfielder was leaning towards staying due to Cristiano Ronaldo's arrival.

Pogba's contract at Manchester United is due to expire at the end of this season, leaving the possibility that he walks away from the club for free for the second time in his career.

In the summer, he was heavily linked with moves to PSG and Real Madrid, neither side made an offer but they can return to negotiate directly with the midfielder in January to sign a pre contract agreement.

On Monday, it was claimed that the World Cup winner was now leaning towards staying at Old Trafford, due to the impact of Ronaldo's return.

However, as always seems to be the case with Pogba's future, matters have been complicated by his brother claiming the 28-year-old hasn't made a decision.

"Paul has not decided yet whether to stay or not next summer," 31-year-old Mathias Pogba told El Chiringuito TV.

"It’s his decision - he’s feeling very good at Man United now, this season.

"Then let’s see. Let’s see when will be time to decide."

Whilst the former Juventus midfielder has often frustrated United fans with his inconsistent form, his ability on the pitch means he's still well liked by many fans.

However it's often the people around him whose comments about the player's future frustrate fans and lead to any animosity towards him.

Previously Florentin Pogba, Mathias' twin, had angered United fans when he talked about wanting his brother to sign for Real, and it didn't help that the comments came soon after the youngest Pogba returned to training following an injury.

Timing is often a problem with the statements about the France midfielder's future as well, with agent Mino Raiola also in the crosshairs of annoyed Red Devils' fans in the past.

The superagent claimed last year that his client's time at United was 'over,' just 24 hours before they played a Champions League group decider against RB Leipzig.

Fans were left fuming with the timing of the announcement, which was seen as a distraction, before Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team were knocked out by the German side.
