High-profile athletes from various sports, like Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook, Serena Williams, Naomi Osaka and Lewis Hamilton, showed up to support the Met Gala 2021 in New York.

As usual in the annual fundraising affair–returning from a one-year hiatus–celebrities and personalities flaunted their wild and crazy costumes on the red carpet. While artists and celebs like Lil Nas, CL, Rihanna and more turned heads with their jaw-dropping attires, the sports world were also well represented as some athletes even showcased their daring and eye-popping wardrobe choices.

Curry and Westbrook opted to go for the simple look in the Met Gala 2021, but the same can't be said of Williams and Osaka who both impressed (or shocked) fans with their fashion statements.

Williams certainly looked fab with her cape, while props should be given to Osaka for bringing her Haitian and Japanese heritage into her Met Gala costume.

After recently making headlines for his fashion choices, it's quite disappointing that Westbrook didn't go for anything crazy in the event.

Hamilton, despite coming off a crash from the Italian Grand Prix, also made his way to New York for Met Gala 2021. New women's singles US Open champion Emma Raducanu graced the fundraiser as well and stunned with her attire.

US gymnasts Nia Dennis and Simone Biles, football star Megan Rapinoe, and even Russell Wilson's wife and singer Ciara (who represented the Seattle Seahawks very well) flexed their fashion sense with their own special outfits.

The Met Gala 2021 has certainly been a memorable one with all the costumes and clothes of everyone that joined, and by the looks of it, it will be a trending topic for the next couple of days.
