After flirting with blonde hues for years, Gigi Hadid decided to try red hair instead in 2021. The supermodel was inspired by the Netflix show Queen's Gambit change hair color and debuted her new copper hair, which was dyed by New York City-based hairstylist Panos Papandrianos back in March. For the 2021 Met Gala, she decided to stick to the red family but chose a fiery red shade that's reminiscent of Ariel's hair from The Little Mermaid.
Hadid practically looks like a Barbie doll with this iconic look. Her fiery hair was gathered into a high ponytail full of volume, length, and texture. The base of the ponytail resembles a pompadour, and we have a feeling some serious teasing took place here. We love how these red pieces of hair cascade towards her mid-back in large waves. The texture works well with this look. The black bedazzled barrette is the finishing touch for this elevated glam look.
Her baby blue eye shadow and winged liner further complement her glamorous pony. Her winged liner is fairly thick and extends slightly toward her temple. On the bottom of her eye, a faint line wings out from the corner of her waterline for a double-lined look. The pastel blue pigment stands out on her lids and almost matches the color of her eyes. The rest of her soft neutral glam base pulls the rest of the old-Hollywood-inspired look together.
While it seems like her new red hair was practically made for her, we have to admit that Hadid could pull off any look — on and off the red carpet — and make it work.
