CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Montgomery County Board of Commissioners appointed Robert Sigler to fill the unexpired term of Jason Knight, who vacated the seat due to issues of residency, Monday at their September formal session.

Sigler was one of five candidates to be considered for the seat. He was selected in the second round of voting, securing 11 votes from seated county commissioners.

Sigler is a service-disabled Army veteran who currently works as the lead contracting officer at Land Between the Lakes for the U.S. Forest Service. Prior to that, he served as a contracting specialist for the U.S. Army at Fort Campbell, Ky.

According to his Commission application, he has lived in Clarksville for 17 years and recently served as the President of Kadiwa (a Clarksville-based group for Filipino-Americans) from 2018-2021. He is also a member of the Friends Group for Land Between the Lakes.

Sigler has a master’s degree in QSM from National Graduate School and a bachelor’s degree in social science from Georgia Southern University.

“I just want to thank the county commissioners for voting for me, and I look forward to working with the county to make improvement for its citizens,” Sigler told Clarksville Now.
