Hawkeye trailer, first look, premiere date, cast and more

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, not because of the upcoming holiday season but because the Hawkeye trailer is finally here!

The much-teased Marvel Cinematic Universe spin-off was seemingly languishing in production hell, but the first trailer promises a crisp, hilarious, action-packed buddy comedy starring two fan-favorite comic book archers.

The production values in the trailer look fantastic but much more grounded and practical than the recent MCU properties.

Hawkeye will be the fifth original Marvel series to debut on Disney+ this year, and it has some big shoes to fill, considering WandaVision won numerous awards at the Emmy Awards.

The announcement was made on Disney+’s official channels.

Hawkeye premiere date: When does the show premiere?

Following a year of barely any new MCU content (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. aside), 2021 has been a bonanza year for Marvel fans.

Despite delays and release date changes, Hawkeye was officially announced to be released on the Disney+ streaming service from November 24, 2021.

The series will be eight episodes long, with each episode releasing on Wednesdays.

Hawkeye cast

Jeremy Renner will be reprising his role as Clint Barton/ Hawkeye. This will be the first time Renner is leading a Marvel property after appearing in a supporting role throughout the MCU. But he’ll be ably supported by an ensemble cast of actors playing heroes and villains.

Hailee Steinfeld will be introduced as Kate Bishop, who is also Hawkeye in the comics. The trailer shows her evolve from dressing as Ronin to the familiar purple suit.

As teased at the end of Black Widow, Florence Pugh will return as Yelena Belova. She didn’t appear in the trailer, but her addition to the cast had been announced earlier this year.

Vera Farmiga will also be making her MCU debut as Eleanor Bishop, Kate’s mother. But is she a friend or foe?

Rounding out the cast are Zahn McClarnon, Brian d’Arcy James, Tony Dalton, Alaqua Cox and Fra Fee. Can we expect some cameos, as well?

Hawkeye synopsis: What is the show about?

Much like the other Phase 4 properties, this Disney+ series takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame, and it looks like Clint will be confronting his past actions.

He had taken on a much more violent moniker in Endgame to take down cartels and gangs, and in the Hawkeye trailer, Kate puts on the same suit to terrorize more of the underworld. They cross paths, and suddenly, Clint’s chances of being with his family during Christmas become slim.

The trailer is tailored to evoke the warm and fuzzy feelings of Christmas, something that’s been mostly missing in the MCU. The trailer also centers on Clint’s family life as he reunites with his children and tries to make up for the lost time.

Additionally, the Hawkeye trailer hints that fans will also get a better understanding of the post-Blip world in the MCU, including a look at an Avengers musical. We can’t wait!

We can expect plenty of banter and competition between Clint and Kate, given their relationship in the comics. But who are the villains? We’ll find out this winter.
