EastEnders spoilers follow.
EastEnders' Bobby Beale will be left devastated when his girlfriend Dana is attacked in front of him next week.
Dana's week gets off to a difficult start when she is urged by her dad Harvey to reconsider her relationship with Bobby.
Determined to stand by Bobby regardless, Dana (Barbara Smith) joins him, Iqra, Kioni and newcomer Waseem in handing out flyers in support of the new mosque.
Dana soon notices a group of men approaching who antagonise the group with racial slurs.
Harvey later pops in a bid to show his support, but makes an offensive joke which shocks the others.
Aware that Harvey still isn't sure about him, Bobby professes his love for Dana and promises that he will always protect her.
Not long after, Bobby, Dana, Kioni and Iqra see the offensive men from earlier and are cornered. As things get out of hand, Dana is physically assaulted, while a helpless Bobby watches on.
At the police station afterwards, a distraught Iqra apologises for fleeing during the attack but Bobby is consumed with his own guilt for not protecting Dana.
EastEnders airs these scenes on Thursday, September 23 on BBC One.
