DeAndre Jordan was all smiles in a recent interview as he shared his thoughts on his recent move to the Los Angeles Lakers. The ex-Brooklyn Nest big man joins an absolutely star-studded roster in LA, with one the most prominent members in the squad being eight-time All-Star Anthony Davis.

Apparently, AD went out of his way to thank Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka for bringing Jordan to LA. DJ was smiling from ear to ear when he was told about his new teammates' telling reaction to his arrival:

“AD actually thanked Rob (Pelinka) when you guys walked by,” Chris McGee of Spectrum SportsNet told Jordan, via Peter Dewey of Lakers Daily. “I mean listen, you’ve been in the league a long time, you have a lot of accolades, but it still probably feels good when superstars from another team are excited to have you.”

“Yeah, it feels good, man,” Jordan responded. “Like I said, just to be in a situation where it’s beneficial, I’m super excited about it, being able to play with these guys with this caliber of talent, who have been in this league for a long time and who have won. I’m really excited to be a part of this and not only be teammates, but not have to guard these guys anymore (laughs). It’s just an exciting time.”

DeAndre Jordan is expected to play some significant minutes for the Lakers this coming season and he will be suiting up alongside Davis in the frontcourt. This could be the start of a fruitful partnership between two highly-decorated big men in the NBA.

For his part, Anthony Davis appears to be excited with the prospect of sharing the floor with Jordan, and it is clear that the same can be said about DJ as well.
