Suffolk County is looking to go green with a move to make its entire fleet of vehicles all electric.
Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone teamed up with Westchester County Executive George Latimer to make the change. They are aiming to have zero-emission fleets by 2030.
"It will take all of us working together at all levels of government if we're going to make progress in a timeframe necessary to make a difference," says Bellone.
Officials hope the initiative will also serve as a framework for other counties to establish shared use of electric vehicles in their efforts to go green.
