Alex Rodriguez hosts luxe bash at Miami mansion for new NBA team

Alex Rodriguez recently treated his new NBA team to a week in Miami — and the getaway could become an annual tradition for the squad, Page Six has learned.

Before he was spotted at New York Fashion Week over the weekend, we hear that the former Yankees star and his business partner Marc Lore brought their new Minnesota Timberwolves squad to Miami to warm up, literally, before the season starts next month.

Sources told Page Six that A-Rod, 46, hosted 50-plus team members and staffers at his 11,000-square-foot Coral Gables, Fla., home for a warm get-together.

A source told us that, “every player attended,” and entertainment included a DJ and a magician. The Miami home is also known for housing Rodriguez’s impressive art collection — as well as “window walls [that] can retract to open the living spaces to the sprawling yard,” including a swimming pool, a freestanding bar pavilion, and an in-ground trampoline, Architectural Digest reported.

Said a spy of the trip, “Alex and Marc had the team in Miami for the week practicing and scrimmaging. Players included D’Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns.” The new owners, “wanted to set the tone for the upcoming season. They attended practice daily, and hosted multiple dinners.”

The gathering was such as hit, the team’s thinking it could be an annual preseason ritual, we hear. (Hey, it might even make those Minnesota winters more palatable.)

Rodriguez then headed to New York — where he was broadcasting the Yankees-Mets games on Saturday and Sunday.

He also found time to attend the US Open with his two daughters, and was spotted by night at an event for New York Fashion Week, Page Six reported. A-Rod attended Kid Cudi and Richie Akiva’s “Entergalactica” party at a private Soho penthouse on Saturday.

Also at the bash were A$AP Rocky, French Montana, Chance The Rapper, Travis Scott, designer Alexander Wang, Justine Skye and Swizz Beatz, who snapped photos with Rodriguez and Akiva near the DJ booth, where Jus Ske and Mel DeBarge provided tunes.

Also at the US Open over the weekend were stars including Bradley Cooper, Ben Stiller, and Rami Malek, plus VIPs such as Gayle King, Savannah Guthrie, and 76ers co-owner Michael Rubin with 7-foot team star Joel Embiid.

Rodriguez and Lore were approved to buy the Minnesota NBA team in July. The Timberwolves will kick off their preseason on Oct. 4 against the Pelicans, before opening the season Oct. 20 against the Rockets.
