An Oregon City man died Sunday in a single-vehicle crash on Oregon 6 about 15 miles west of Banks, Oregon State Police said.

Gene Carlson, 66, was towing a 17-foot boat with his Ford F-150 when his truck drifted off the road into a guardrail, causing it to roll, officials said. It is unclear what caused Carlson’s truck to drift, the Oregon State Police said.

Carlson was pronounced dead at the scene after state troopers and other emergency personnel arrived just after 5:15 p.m, officials said.

Oregon 6 was closed for about two hours Sunday night.
