Trump is the best bet to reelect Biden in 2024

.

President Joe Biden is well on his way to being a one-term president as disaster after disaster pile up under his watch. Yet, former President Donald Trump may well turn Biden’s fortunes around.

Trump is, apparently, on his way to running for the office again in 2024. This is according to both former adviser Jason Miller and Trump ally Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio. It is no surprise, especially given that Biden looks more vulnerable by the day. But Trump reentering the race would be a boon to the chances of whichever Democrat is nominated in 2024, whether that is Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, or anybody else.

Trump, after all, was the one who lost the White House to Biden in the first place. Biden, a doddering old fool who could hardly speak three coherent sentences unless they were scripted for him, barely campaigned at all in 2020. He picked Harris, one of the most unpopular political figures in the country, as his running mate. But Trump let his erratic messaging and off-putting demeanor beat his own campaign as Biden sat back and watched.

What’s worse, Trump does not limit his self-destructive tendencies to his own candidacy. He threw away the GOP’s Senate majority by constantly claiming that the election in Georgia was rigged, convincing his own supporters to stay home and let Democrats take two Senate seats. Now, he is trying to snuff out the final hopes of the California recall effort, claiming a day before the election that it is also rigged.

Electorally, Trump is a loser. He drags down GOP House and Senate candidates. He handed control of the Senate to Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to protect his own ego. He lost to the bumbling fool that is Biden. Yes, he won in an upset in 2016, but that was against Hillary Clinton, another loser who somehow managed to be more off-putting than Trump. Trump did not win that election as much as Clinton lost it, and the numbers bear that out.

Of all of the candidates who have been floated for the 2024 GOP nomination, Trump gives Biden the best chance of winning. Aside from the fact that he already lost to Biden, Trump is likely the only candidate who would willingly give away the focus on Biden’s failure-ridden administration to talk about himself and how he was robbed of his 2020 “victory.”

Unless Trump’s goal is to reelect Biden, he should not be running in 2024. Republicans shouldn’t humor him if he decides to do so. Trump is directly responsible for Biden and Schumer being in the positions they have been in for the last eight months. Trump will help them, not Republicans, if the GOP lets him be the nominee once again.
