When Ange Postecoglou arrived at Celtic earlier this summer after an appointment of Eddie Howe failed to materialise, not many people were sure what to expect from the manager. It is safe to say that in a short span of time, Postecoglou has managed to show his quality and become a fan favourite.

The impact that he has had on this side is clear for all to see. While we are still in the early stages of his time as the club’s manager, he has already managed to implement his style of football on the team.

While the results have been mixed so far and there is still a long way to go before Celtic can return to the top of Scottish football, the early signs have been very encouraging and the fans must be excited about the future.

And it looks like there is one aspect of their game that the Hoops are already excelling at under the management of Postecoglou.

Celtic are ahead of Manchester City this season in terms of passing

According to a study by CIES Football Observatory and as reported by the Daily Record, only Paris Saint-Germain and Shakhtar Donetsk have made more passes than Celtic this season. When it comes to the success rate of passing, only PSG, Lazio and Shakhtar Donetsk have done better than Celtic’s 90.3 per cent.

Thus, it just shows that the Hoops have done better than Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in both the areas. As a result, the impact that Postecoglou has had on the style of football that Celtic are playing is clear for all to see.

Now, it will be interesting to see how the side continues to develop over the course of the season as they gel better over time and become more accustomed to the manager’s tactics. It is safe to say that this is a very exciting time to a Celtic fan.
