We've broken down everything players need to know about this week's Free Rotation selection in Pokemon UNITE.

The Free Rotation is a selection of at least four Pokemon that are free to play for the duration of the week. This gives players an opportunity to try out different Pokemon they may or may not want to purchase later on. In essence, it's a "try before you buy" feature.

Pokemon UNITE Free Rotation: Week of Sept. 12-18

The Pokemon available for this week's free rotation are:

  • Cinderace
  • Mr. Mime
  • Gengar
  • Garchomp

For those unaware of what these Pokemon offer in matches, we've put together a short description below:

Cinderace is a ranged physical attacker that prioritizes regular attack over special attack. It is also a popular choice due to its passive and kit. Its highest rating is in Offense with Mobility, Scoring, and Endurance following behind, respectively. Blaze, its passive, applies a litany of buffs from marking a target for extra damage to buffing its speed and base attack at low health. Players can purchase Cinderace from the Aeos Emporium for 8,000 Aeos Coins or 460 Aeos Gems.

Mr. Mime is a melee supporter and the only special attacker of the group. Its kit is tailored for crowd control than anything else with a powerful shove and AoE stun ultimate. However, like any crowd control choice, it can be difficult to master the amount of awareness and coordination necessary to perform well. Its highest rating is tied with Support and Endurance with Scoring and Offense tied for second. Mr. Mime can be purchased from the Aeos Emporium for 8,000 Aeos Coins or 460 Aeos Gems.

Gengar is a melee special speedster that prioritizes special attack over "regular" attack. It was once one of the most deadly choices in-game, but has since taken a blow to its popularity following a recent patch. Its highest rating is in Mobility with Offense, Endurance, and Scoring following behind, respectively. Gengar's passive, Levitate, applies a permanent buff to its movement speed when not in combat. Players can purchase Gengar's UNITE license from the Aeos Emporium for 10,000 Aeos Coins or 575 Aeos Gems.

Garchomp is a melee all-rounder that specializes in physical attack and, therefore, uses the base attack stat. Most trainers will recognize this Pokemon as the partner to Sinnoh League Champion, Cynthia. Its highest ratings are in Offense and Endurance with Mobility and Scoring tied for second. Rough Skin, its passive ability, applies to other melee attackers by transferring some of their own damage back onto them with every hit. Those who appreciate Garchomp can purchase its UNITE license from the Aeos Emporium for 10,000 Aeos Coins or 575 Aeos Gems.
