Students and staff at Congressman Silvestre and Carolina Reyes Elementary honored the former congressman's wife Monday.

Carolina Reyes, the wife of former Congressman Silvestre Reyes, passed away Sunday.

The school, which is named after Carolina and Silvestre, observed a moment of silence outside.

Amazing Grace was sung by the school's music teacher to remember the life of Carolina.

Our Reyes community offers their heartfelt condolences to Congressman Silvestre Reyes and family. We pray for peace and comfort for them during this difficult time and offer our condolences to them. We are at a loss of words as we all adored Mrs. Reyes. Her love, compassion and kindness will forever be remembered in our community.

The cause of her death is unknown at this time.
