NEW LONDON (WLUK) -- The Skogen family is buying the last remaining Wisconsin Festival Foods store is does not already own.
The family says it is buying the New London Festival Foods from the Coppersmith family.
Brothers Mike and Ted Coppersmith, along with Ted's wife, Beth, have been operating the store as a Festival Foods since 1999. It was previously a Red Owl store, which the brothers bought in 1979 after working for the family operation since the early 1970s.
"The Coppersmith family has delivered excellence to the New London community for generations," Skogen's Festival Foods president/CEO Mark Skogen said in a news release. "We are honored to have this opportunity to continue the tradition they began."
"My family and I want to thank everyone who has supported our family and our business for so many years, and we are pleased to transition the store to another family who puts customers and communities first," Mike Coppersmith said in a news release.
The Skogens are set to take over the store Oct. 15. It will be their 26th full-service supermarket in the state.
