Google Stadia's Director for Games, Jack Buser, has switched occupations and is now working in the Google Cloud division. Originally reported by ZDNet, Jack Buser has moved on from Google Stadia and he's now in "a new executive role focused on Gaming Solutions". What this means is that Buser is now Google Cloud's Director of Global Gaming Solutions, and will be reporting to VP of Industry Solutions Lori Mitchell-Keller starting today in his new role.

"Google Cloud sees incredible momentum across all industries, and gaming is one of the key verticals we are investing in," a Google spokesperson told ZDNet. "Jack's hire illustrates Google Cloud's continued investment into our global, customer-first gaming strategy, and his five years at Google will help open doors for broader strategic partnerships with customers across YouTube, Stadia, and more," Mitchell-Keller said in a statement.

"Jack brings 20 years of experience within the industry as well as a unique blend of business and technical knowledge to further expand our ability to serve gaming customers."

It's been a bad year for Google Stadia. So far we've seen Google Stadia turn from a developer into a publisher and Google Stadia Head of Product John Justice quitting Google. Jack Buser moving on from Stadia represents another blow to the online service, which we also talked about in an article that nicely details the continued decline of Google Stadia.

That isn't to say Google Stadia is completely dead, but the original idea of it-of having a streaming service where Google themselves would also be developing games for it-is certainly dead. Instead, Google argues that this move of moving Jack Buser over from Google Stadia to Google Cloud "... should bring new partnership and product opportunities across Stadia and Google Cloud." I guess we'll have to see about that.
