The Truth Behind Brielle Biermann's Feud With NeNe Leakes
During Season 1 of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," Kim Zolciak was a single mother of two young girls who was just keeping things together while also trying to kickstart her career. She also had an on-again, off-again relationship with her supposed best friend, NeNe Leakes, as detailed in People. Unfortunately for their friendship, NeNe made it no secret that she wasn't impressed with Kim's alleged relationship with a married man that she referred to as "Big Poppa." During a reunion special with Andy Cohen, Kim told him that she had a lot of respect for Big Poppa and his family, despite the fact that he was going through a divorce at the time. NeNe famously responded with, "Close your legs to married men" along with, "You heard me" when Kim tried to defend herself in front of the other housewives. Oy.
And while Kim and Nene's relationship throughout the years has seen good days and bad days, it's NeNe's feud with Kim's daughter Brielle Biermann that has people talking. NeNe's beef with Brielle began back in 2017 after Kim's daughter posted a Snapchat video from NeNe's bathroom that she definitely disapproved of. Here's what happened!
Brielle Biermann's pesky feud with NeNe Leakes
In 2017, the drama began when Brielle Biermann thought she saw a cockroach in NeNe Leakes' bathroom, much to the surprise of NeNe and Brielle's Snapchat followers.
It didn't take very long for NeNe to respond to the video, in which Brielle wrote she wasn't going to "live in my ROACH infested brand new home" on Instagram. According to Us Weekly, NeNe hurled one accusation after another, and even called Kim Zolciak Biermann a "trashy mom." She wrote on Instagram, "We don't have roaches! If you found 1, u brought it with u or it fell outta yo funky p—y! Please know I will get You all the way together when you start f–king wit me and mine!" Leakes wrote alongside the clip, not mincing words. "Go somewhere and let the air outta those fake lips, fake t***** and fake a** because you will never be @kylejenner [sic] Yo trashy mama should have taught you better! My home is Brand New but you guys were so jealous of it, you couldn't even give a compliment."
Needless to say, it didn't take Kim very long to respond. She wrote, "I was filming as an INVITED guest at @neneleakes for RHOA!! Brielle was invited as well! Brielle went to the bathroom and saw several bugs and had sent ME the video on snap and NO ONE ELSE!!! We ARE filming a show, remember that..." So, what exactly happened after roach-gate?
Nene Leakes made light of the situation instead of staying 'bugged'
According to People, Brielle Biermann supposedly reignited her feud with NeNe Leakes several months later when she posted an Instagram story of the Orkin pest control company visiting her home. She wrote, "We have Orkin come every now and then. He comes regularly. Good to see you again," Brielle said in her clip, while also filming the inspector. "No roaches over here!"
Well, it's a good thing that NeNe has a sense of humor because for Halloween she dressed up as a pest inspector herself while her late husband Gregg Leakes wore a life-size roach costume, per her Instagram. Now, as far as where NeNe stands with Brielle today, it's uncertain, but Kim Zolciak did show her support to her former best friend when Gregg passed away from cancer in August, according to Page Six. She posted a photo of the couple on her Instagram page along with a heartfelt message that said, "Gregg was ALWAYS kind, considerate, and the calm in any storm. He was the peaceful voice of reason and will be greatly missed by so many. His legacy lives on in you and the boys. Until we meet again, may you rest in Paradise, Gregg." Pesky bugs aside, at least that's one housewife keeping it both real and sincere. Maybe it's best if Brielle just keeps out of her mom's life and her friendships, right?
