AKRON, Ohio – The Akron Zoo is once again holding its family friendly Boo at the Zoo Halloween event.
Participants are encouraged to dress in costumes and bring a bag or bucket to collect treats. The zoo will host 12 different themed treat stations throughout its grounds.
Events will be held on the following dates:
For children with food allergies, the zoo will offer non-food items as treats as part of the Teal Pumpkin initiative.
The zoo is also hosting a Zoothing Boo at the Zoo event for people with different abilities who don’t like crowds or loud noises to trick-or-treat. The event will be held Oct. 30 from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
Tickets for guests who want to collect treats from each station (regardless of age) are $15. Tickets for Boo at the Zoo observers are $12. Children under age 2 are free but still require a ticket for entry. Tickets are also available for purchase online in advance at a discount.
Parking is $3, which includes round-trip shuttles for guests who park in overflow lots.
Adults may also wear costumes to the event, but are not permitted to cover their face with a costume mask or face paint.
The zoo requests everyone wear a mask or face covering in all indoor buildings.
Event hours are from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Online ticket holders can enter the zoo at 10:30 a.m.
