He may have gotten a little carried away.

Lil Nas X was seen being held by security as he left a 2021 MTV Video Music Awards afterparty at 1Oak nightclub in the Meatpacking District late Sunday night.

The “Industry Baby” rapper, 22, was photographed clinging onto the shoulders of a security guard as another guard assisted from behind.

It did not help that fans mobbed Lil Nas X, whose real name is Montero Hill, outside the club as he tried to make his exit.

The artist was spotted going shirtless under a pink leather jacket and matching pants, finishing his look with a pair of black sunglasses.

Lil Nas X went out after the awards show to celebrate his three wins, including Video of the Year for “Montero (Call Me by Your Name).” He also performed “Industry Baby” with Jack Harlow at the ceremony in Brooklyn.

During his acceptance speech, Lil Nas X, who came out as gay in June 2019, jokingly saluted the “gay agenda” behind his music, telling the audience, “Let’s go, gay agenda! I love you guys so much. I will not take this for granted.”

The “Old Town Road” singer made a splash on the VMAs red carpet earlier in the evening, seemingly channeling Prince in an all-purple ensemble by Atelier Versace that featured sparkling pants and an off-the-shoulder coat with a sweeping train. He also rocked a mullet hairdo.

His look caused some controversy when red carpet interviewer Jamila Mustafa seemingly dissed the look.

When Lil Nas X asked whether she thought he looked good, Mustafa replied, “Listen, I’m not gonna say I’m hatin’ on the ‘fit, but let’s move on, OK.”
