A woman from New York City died following a three-vehicle crash last week in Seneca County.
State Police responded to the area of State Route 96 and Brewer Road in Waterloo around 3:45 p.m. Friday.
Troopers say a vehicle traveling north on Brewer Road failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit by a dump truck traveling westbound. They say the northbound vehicle then hit another passenger vehicle that was stopped on Brewer Road.
Veronica Ashby, 18, of New York City died at the scene of the crash. Troopers say she was a passenger in the back seat of the northbound vehicle.
They say the driver of that vehicle, 18-year-old Daryannos Marco Kinney of Pennsylvania, and a front seat passenger, 19-year-old Mekhi Bennett of the Bronx, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The dump truck operator, 53-year-old Marc Lesterhuis of Waterloo, and the driver of the other passenger vehicle, Makayla Price of Waterloo, were not hurt.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
