Michigan recruit roundup: QB commit Jayden Denegal combines for 4 TDs

Michigan’s football program currently has 15 commits in its 2022 class. Here are the available stats and highlights from the Wolverines’ pledges and top targets last week.

3-star QB Jayden Denegal, Apple Valley (Calif.)

Denegal has led Apple Valley to back-to-back wins after an 0-2 start. He completed 10 of 16 passes for 166 yards and three touchdowns in a 59-0 win over Victor Valley last week. He also rushed for a 7-yard score. Denegal is the No. 433 overall recruit and No. 28 quarterback nationally.

3-star TE Colston Loveland, Gooding (Idaho)

Loveland had two highlight-reel touchdown catches in Gooding’s 48-13 victory over Mountain Home. You can watch them here and here. The 6-foot-5, 230-pounder is the No .591 recruit in the class.

3-star LB Micah Pollard, Jacksonville Bartram Trail

Pollard, the nephew of former Michigan receiver Braylon Edwards, finished second on the team with six tackles in a 37-31 loss to Tallahassee Lincoln. One went for a loss. Pollard is ranked No. 573 nationally.

4-star DE Mario Eugenio, Tampa (Fla.) Gaither

Eugenio had three tackles and a pass breakup in a 22-19 loss to Armwood on Friday. His team was outscored 16-0 in the second half. Eugenio is the No. 268 recruit nationally.

3-star RB CJ Stokes, Columbia (S.C.) Hammond School

Hammond primarily moved the ball through the air last week, but Stokes had a pivotal touchdown run in the third quarter of a 23-7 victory over Charlotte Country Day. Hammond outscored the opponent 16-0 in the second half. Stokes is ranked as the No. 694 recruit in the class.

3-star LB Kevonte Henry, Lawndale (Calif.) Leuzinger

Henry also plays running back for Leuzinger and had a 2-yard touchdown run in a 35-21 win over Long Beach Poly. The 6-foot-4, 225-pounder is the No. 732 recruit nationally.

2022 targets

5-star DT Walter Nolen, Powell (Tenn.)

The No. 1 overall recruit in the class had a sack and several tackles in the team’s 42-14 win over Science Hill. Nolen visited Ann Arbor Saturday for the Washington game. There are no current 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions for Nolen.

4-star LB Lander Barton, Salt Lake City Brighton

Barton is an impact player on both sides of the ball for Brighton. He had six catches for 91 yards and a score in a 35-28 loss to Olympus. The No. 268 recruit in the country also had a team-high 18 tackles, including a sack. He also visited for the Washington game.

2023 target

5-star QB Dante Moore, Detroit Martin Luther King

Moore continues to dominate this season, completing 18 of 25 passes for 367 yards and five touchdowns against a stout Detroit Cass Tech defense last week. He is the No. 16 recruit and No. 3 quarterback in the 2023 class.
