While a large contingent of Toronto Maple Leafs prospects are currently battling hard at development camp and learning a few new tricks to add to their arsenal this summer, the Leafs' top pick in 2020, Rodion Amirov, has been sidelined, due to a broken collarbone.

The 15th-overall pick suffered the injury on August 13th during preseason action with his KHL club, Ufa Salavat Yulaev, prematurely ending what was a stellar start to his preseason. You can see the play that caused the injury below:

Some good news to report on the Amirov front on Monday, as the 19-year-old has resumed skating in Russia.

The original time frame for recovery was around 3-4 weeks, so Amirov appears to be just a bit behind schedule, but the fact that he is back on the ice is certainly encouraging.

Amirov suited up in 39 games with Ufa last season, finding the back of the net 9 times and adding 4 assists for a total of 13 points. He is expected to take on a larger role in the KHL this season.
