It’s never a slow day in the world of Conor McGregor.

Even without a fight on the horizon as he recovers from a leg injury, McGregor found himself in a headline-stealing scrap when he got into a physical altercation with rapper Machine Gun Kelly at the MTV Video Music Awards in New York.

Photos and video surfaced Sunday featuring McGregor and Kelly having to be separated by security, with TMZ reporting that the dispute began when McGregor was denied a photo with Kelly. A McGregor rep denied that account of the story and that the UFC star was responsible for instigating the incident.

McGregor had this to say in an interview with Entertainment Tonight:

Nothing happened with me, I only fight real fighters. People that actually fight. I certainly don’t fight little Vanilla Ice white rappers. I don’t even know the guy. I don’t know anything about him, except that he’s with Megan Fox.

An outlet attempted to interview Kelly afterwards, but he brushed the question off before abruptly walking away.

The MMA community had plenty to say about the situation, including “BMF” champion Jorge Masvidal, who suggested that it was all a set-up by Triller.

See the reactions from Masvidal and others below.
