First look: Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers odds and lines

The Atlanta Falcons (0-1) visit the NFC South rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-0) Sunday for their Week 2 showdown at Raymond James Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Falcons vs. Buccaneers odds and lines; check back for our NFL picks and predictions.

Atlanta was dismantled by the Philadelphia Eagles 32-6 as a 3.5-point home favorite in what was the second-most lopsided victory of the NFL’s Week 1 slate. The Falcons were outgained 434-260 in total yards, converted just 3 of 14 third-down attempts and didn’t score a touchdown.

Tampa Bay beat the Dallas Cowboys 31-29 in the NFL Kickoff game Thursday but failed to cover as a 9-point home favorite. It was a thrilling opener to the NFL season as the Bucs won a back-and-forth contest thanks to a game-winning FG in the last minute set up by a standard QB Tom Brady final drive.

Falcons at Buccaneers head-to-head

The Buccaneers defeated the Falcons in both meetings last season (1-1 against the spread) with Brady torching Atlanta in each game. Brady had a 6-TD-to-1-INT ratio with a 66.3% completion rate, 394.5 passing yards per game and a 114.0 QB rating in the two contests.

To his credit, Falcons QB Matt Ryan also balled out in those games as well. Ryan had a 5-TD-to-0-INT ratio with a 67.7% completion rate, 310.5 passing yards per game and a 104.3 QB rating, but Atlanta’s defense got destroyed by Tampa’s aerial attack.
