Sony Pictures has dropped a new Venom: Let There Be Carnage banner that teases Eddie Brock's darker side and the twisted duality of Cletus Kasady, a character we know better as the monstrous Carnage...

Venom: Let There Be Carnage is just a couple of weeks away from arriving in theaters, and a new banner for the movie has now been revealed by Sony Pictures (via @thevenomsite).

As you can see, it once again uses that familiar piece of imagery featuring half of Venom's "face" and half of Eddie Brock's, but also applies it to Cletus Kasady and Carnage. There's a huge amount of excitement surrounding the live-action debut of that villain, and it's definitely looking like he'll be every bit as brutal as his comic book counterpart if the trailers are anything to go by.

While the box office continues to take a hit thanks to COVID-19, early projections for the Venom sequel are pretty solid, while Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings has also overperformed during this "pandemic era." With that in mind, there's a good chance this movie is going to be a success.

"Tom Hardy returns to the big screen as the lethal protector Venom, one of Marvel's greatest and most complex characters," reads a brief synopsis that was released on the movie's website (where you can now purchase tickets for the movie). "Directed by Andy Serkis, the film also stars Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris and Woody Harrelson, in the role of the villain Cletus Kasady/Carnage."

We recently caught up with Andy Serkis to discuss his work on the sequel, so be sure to keep checking back here for that interview - and our review - in the coming weeks (and yes, we talked Spider-Man).

As noted, Venom: Let There Be Carnage stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris, Reid Scott, Stephen Graham, and Woody Harrelson. It's set to be released in theaters on October 1, 2021.

Two very good actors, but man really not sure about this one. Just not a fan of how they are portraying the symbiot and eddie relationship and wasn't impressed with Andy Serkis's Jungle Book. Plus first movie was nothing to write home about.

Hopefully Serkis improves his craft and also learns from the mistakes of the first film.

@dracula -

The way Kasady is being portrayed in the first trailer makes him out to be methodical with the way he murders or the way he sees the world. And I wasn’t feeling that. Maximum Carnage really established that he isn’t about planning or having a thought process when it came to how he kills. He just kills cause he finds it fun.
I hope he is more like that in this film.

@SatsuiNoJXA - Agreed. He literally opens a phone book and randomly chooses a name in it to kill. THAT'S the Cletus Kasady I grew up reading.

@dracula - Couldn't agree more. The symbiote/Brock relationship is kind of stupid. And I hate the symbiote's voice. It's way too over the top and cartoonish. They tried to add humor where there shouldn't be any, and it really hurts the character, in my opinion.

@Waddles - The mouth and nose area really make it seem like a 2D symbiote on top of a 3D face. Like they're just holding a sheet of paper over half their faces.
