Join Humane PA for 44th Annual Walk for the Animals

Reading, PA – Humane Pennsylvania celebrates its 44th Annual Performance Toyota Walk for the Animals on Saturday, September 18th, at Jim Dietrich Park. The animal welfare organization looks forward to hosting this long-standing traditional event in person this year, as last year’s Walk went virtual due to COVID-19.

The Walk is free and open to the public. Registration is still open, with a limited amount of commemorative Walk t-shirts remaining. Registration levels include a $22 general walker, or $12 kid walker. As well as a $50 VIP walker option, which includes a commemorative bandana, a picnic style buffet, as well as complimentary beer and wine. Registrations levels are available at humanepa.org. All money raised directly supports animals in our care the local communities we serve.

Historically, Walk for the Animals has been one of the most significant contributing events for the organization, raising vital funds used to provide resources for abandoned and abused animals and their owners throughout Berks and Lancaster Counties, and across Pennsylvania.

Karel Minor, CEO and President of Humane Pennsylvania, expresses his excitement about this charitable event; “The Walk for the Animals has been around for 44 years for two reasons: it’s a lot of fun and people know the money they help us raise will save thousands of animals each year. We are thrilled to bring the Walk back to the real world after last year’s virtual Walk!”

Attendees can enjoy a one-mile walk along the river with their pups, family, and friends, as well as enjoy live music by British Rockabilly Legend, Dibbs and the Detonators. Shop and support local vendors and amazing food trucks. Spike’s Beer and Wine Garden will be on site for purchase, as well as a VIP Walker perk. Families can enjoy games, dog contests, and more – all in support of the Humane Pennsylvania mission.
