Liverpool have the look of title challengers as they dominate Leeds

It was noisy, it was hostile and it came at a cost but ultimately Liverpool were just too good for Leeds and their fervent support.

They had an early scare to deal with, as Rodrigo found space to test Alisson in the opening stages, but as soon as Mohamed Salah's 100th Premier League goal hit the net the Reds barely looked back.

However, what could have become a rout in the final 30 minutes was halted by a serious injury to Harvey Elliott - a dislocated ankle that required on-field treatment and a stretcher for the young, talented midfielder.

It looked an innocuous sliding challenge on first viewing from Pascal Struijk, one his manager later said was not intended to hurt, but it was enough for referee Craig Pawson to show the defender a red card after the game had halted for Elliot to be treated.

Knocked out of their rhythm, the Reds did not take full advantage of their man extra, but were able to add a third in injury time through Sadio Mane.

Marcelo Bielsa's men have now not won in four and go to Newcastle on Friday in dire need of a result to kickstart their season.

Jurgen Klopp's team have not lost in four matches this season, as part of an unbeaten run in the top-flight of 14.

They have as many points as Manchester United and Chelsea, the Premier League's latest centurion and the look of title challengers.
