Opera San José Unveils Resident Artists & Casting for 2021-22 Season

Opera San José has announced casting for its upcoming 2021-22 season.

The organization revealed that its production of “Dido and Aeneas” will star Nikola Printz and Efraín Solís in the title roles with Maya Kherani as Belina and Nathan Stark as The Sorcerer.

Meanwhile “Carmen” will star Nikola Printz in the title role with Noah Stewart as Don José and Eugene Brancoveanu as Escamillo. Teresa Castillo rounds out the cast Fraquita with Jared V. Esguerra as Remendado.

Finally, “West Side Story” will star Teresa Castillo, Noah Stewart, and Jared V. Esguerra. Christopher James Ray conducts.

These cast members were all announced as Resident Artists for the 2021-22 season.

OSJ’s mission continues to be the support and professional development of opera’s rising stars, like those joining our 2021-22 Resident Company. Over the coming months, we will share their immense talents, stories, and artistic perspectives with our community as we witness exciting role debuts and collaborations in what will truly be an unforgettable season,” said Khori Dastoor, General Director of the California-based company, in a press release.
