The Minnesota Timberwolves have been in the news surrounding the NBA a lot recently amidst all the Ben Simmons trade rumors and them being a team that is “all-in” on the idea of trading for him, but the one player that has been involved for them in trade talks recently has been Malik Beasley.
Beasley was acquired by the Timberwolves at the trade deadline during the 2019-20 season and since coming to Minnesota, he has really begun to come into his own.
In 51 total games over the last two seasons with the Timberwolves, Malik Beasley has averaged 19.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and has shot 40.6% from three-point range, making him a key offensive talent in this league.
This is the main reason he is viewed as one of Minnesota’s better tradable assets to potentially land Ben Simmons, but if the Timberwolves are unable to trade for Simmons, could they still be interested in moving Beasley?

He has three years and $46.3M remaining on his contract and Minnesota still has some roster spots to fill out, which is why Malik Beasley could actually be moved before the start of the season.
If the Timberwolves do make Beasley involved in trade talks, the Memphis Grizzlies could be a sneaky team interested in him. Memphis has been making moves left and right all offseason long and they could definitely benefit from adding a three-point shooting threat like Beasley.
