In 2021 alone the diva made history for becoming the most awarded singer in GRAMMY and NAACP Image Awards history (as we reported here), and also made headlines for extending her reign as the BET Awards’ most decorated act.
Already in MTV record books for being the most-awarded artist in the history of the VMAs, she’s now pushed her Moonperson count even higher.

The MTV VMAs – which aired Sunday night (September 12) – listed Bey’s name in three categories for work found aboard her 2019 project ‘Lion King: The Gift’: Best R&B and Best Cinematography (for ‘Brown Skin Girl’) and Best Art Direction (for ‘Already’).
Among the nods listed, the 40-year-old earned the award for Best Cinematography – besting fellow nominees Lorde (‘Solar Power’), Lady Gaga (‘911’), Justin Bieber & Chance the Rapper (‘Holy’), and Billie Eilish (‘Therefore I Am’). With the win, Bey’s career total Moonperson count now sits at 30.
Further, as the Cinematography award is presented to the cinematographers (Benoit Soler, Malik H. Sayeed, MOHAMMAED ATTA AHMED, Santiago Gonzalez, Ryan Helfant) and the video performers, Bey’s daughter Blue Ivy – at 9-years-old – now enters history books as the youngest VMA winner ever. The previous recordholder, Eilish, was 17-years-old when she captured the title.
