Driver loses control and crashes into concrete pole, killing female passenger, troopers say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash that happened early Sunday Morning in Orange County.

According to troopers, the crash at 4:15 a.m near the intersection of Apopka Vineland Road and 3rd Street.

Troopers said the car was traveling northbound on Apopka Vineland Road, when for an unknown reason the driver lost control.

The car left the roadway, struck a curb and traveled into a yard on the 11300 block of Apopka Vineland Road, troopers said.

According to troopers, the right side of the car struck a concrete pole. The 21-year-old female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 23-year-old male driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
