Celtic have certainly had their fair share of injury problems recently. What is even more worrying is the fact that the squad is not very deep at the moment, which means that they could be left short of options if a player ends up spending any significant length of time on the sidelines through injury.

One of the areas that the Hoops are not very deep at all is left-back. Greg Taylor has featured there regularly this season with Boli Bolingoli yet to make an appearance.

As a result, Taylor’s recent injury troubles will be a major worry for Celtic. The Scottish left-back had injured his shoulder earlier in the season and appeared to injure it again when facing Ross County on Saturday.

Ange Postecoglou gave an update on the situation. As reported by The Scottish Sun, the Celtic manager said:

"“Greg had two weeks of rehab but it looks like the same shoulder again.“It’s a bit of concern for him that he’s re-injured it but we’ll leave that to the medical people.”"

Celtic have been handed a major Taylor injury worry

It looks like Taylor could be a doubt for the upcoming Europa League group stage opening game against Real Betis on Thursday. And it will be interesting to see who plays there if he does end up missing the game.

In his absence, we saw Josip Juranovic play in the left-back position at Ibrox against the Rangers. But it must be said that Adam Montgomery has done very well whenever given the chance to play there and probably deserves to start in the upcoming game.

Liam Scales is someone who is capable of playing in the left-back position as well. The versatile defender arrived at Parkhead late in the summer transfer window and was one of the most highly-rated players in League of Ireland during his time at Shamrock Rovers. Many people even believe that he is good enough to come straight into the Celtic starting XI. And could Bolingoli make an appearance in the future?

Most important right now is Taylor recovering from his injury as soon as possible and we would like to wish him the best of luck.
