Faced with a fourth-and-short with less than two minutes left in overtime, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback faked a run and delivered a dart down the field to tight end C.J. Uzomah.

Not long after, rookie kicker Evan McPherson nailed the game-winning kick to help the Bengals start 1-0.

And it turns out that was all Burrow.

Speaking with the media after his team’s 27-24 win over the Minnesota Vikings, Taylor revealed that he gave Burrow two plays in the huddle and let his franchise quarterback make the call.

Burrow’s call? Avoid the obvious fourth-and-short rush up the middle and air it out to one of his most trusted weapons. It was a decision that ultimately won the Bengals the game.

This sort of trust is something the Bengals have had in Burrow from the start. But it’s still nice to see Burrow use it — and use it so well. That’s not a call or execution many sophomores playing in their 11th game would make.

Burrow checked to the fourth and one pass. Zac says he had his choice of two plays.
