Former BYU RB Jamaal Williams Scores Touchdown In First Game With Detroit Lions

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former BYU running back Jamaal Williams scored his first touchdown as a member of the Detroit Lions during the team’s Week 1 game against the San Francisco 49ers.
The Lions hosted the Niners on Sunday, September 12.
Williams signed with Detroit during the offseason and spending the first few years of his career with the Green Bay Packers.
With 1:53 left in the fourth quarter, Williams punched the ball into the end zone on a one-yard carry.
Williams’ touchdown cut San Francisco’s lead to 41-25.

The Lions scored another touchdown before ultimately falling the 49ers, 41-33.
Williams started the game for Detroit and finished with nine carries for a team-high 54 yards and a touchdown. He also had eight catches for 56 yards out of the backfield.

With the loss, Detroit opened the season with an 0-1 record.
The Lions’ next game is against Williams’ former team, the Packers, on Monday, September 20 at 6:15 p.m. (MDT). The game will broadcast on ESPN.
