Ian’s Player Ratings: Crystal Palace FC Women 1-1 Sunderland - Lasses remain top (and unbeaten!)

SAFC Ladies came from behind away at Crystal Palace to earn a draw and hold their place at the top of the FA Women’s Championship. Here’s how Ian Todd rated the Lasses!

Claudia Moan - 7/10

Takes no blame for the goal conceded, and coped capably with Palace’s few shots directly on target, punching decisively clear from goalmouth skirmishes.

Megan Beer - 6/10

Constantly challenged by Palace’s threat wide down the left, but stuck to the task well and delivered some good forward balls.

Grace McCatty - 7/10

As usual, solid at the back and occasionally adventurous moving the whole team forward.

Charlotte (Thou Shall Not Pass) Potts - 7//10

The other rock in our central defence partnership. Delivering some excellent free kicks into dangerous areas, from which we should perhaps have profited more.

Louise Griffiths - 7/10

Another solid example of the secure and positive way her game continues to develop. Did well against wide right Palace attacks, limiting the quality they could achieve in crossing.

Neve Herron - 8/10

Another starring here, there and everywhere performance, supporting Megan Beer on the left, bolstering the defence, adding prompts to the midfield, and, where possible, setting up attacking positions.

Emma Kelly - 7/10

Continuing as on-field captain, held an often outnumbered midfield together as well as venturing forward for a couple of shots on target.

Jessica Brown - 6/10

A quiet game for Jezza, which is a compliment to the Palace left back

Maria Farrugia - 6/10

Tried hard to penetrate Palace’s solid defence, but with limited success in opening up clear chances.

Abbey Joice - 6/10

A busy bee as usual but, like Maria, unable to offer opportunities for others.

Emily Scarr - 6/10

Led well up front, but with so little support she had few shooting chances.

(SUB) Keira Ramshaw - 7/10

Added pace and invention, and took her point-saving goal well.

(SUB) Holly Manders - 6/10

Gave the Palace defence something new to think about, and contributed well to us seeing out the game.

(SUB) Eve Blakey - N/A

A late replacement for a tiring Jess Brown with little opportunity to shine in, for her, a less familiar role.
