All three rounds of the tournament will be broadcast on Golf Channel as the Demon Deacons face some of the top competition in the nation in the first tournament of the 2021-22 campaign.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.  – The Wake Forest men's golf team plays in its first tournament of the 2021-22 season this week, traveling to Carrollton, Texas to take part in the prestigious Maridoe Collegiate Invitational.

The tournament can be seen live on Golf Channel each day starting at 4 p.m. ET.

The field features 15 teams with the Deacs, entering as one of five teams ranked inside of the top 10 in the GCAA preseason rankings. The tournament also features No. 3 Arizona State, No. 5 Texas, No. 7 Oklahoma and No. 9 Texas Tech.

Wake Forest is coming off its ACC record 46th NCAA Championship, which also ranks 11th among all men's golf programs in the country. Additionally, between the men's program and the women's program the Demon Deacons are one of just two schools to have both teams finish inside of the top 15 in the last three NCAA Championships.

The Deacs are coming off a shortened season that still saw them take home multiple team titles including the Kiawah Invitational and the Wake Forest Invitational at Pinehurst No. 2.

Head coach Jerry Haas, who has an impressive 40 team titles during his time as head coach, leads a talented Demon Deacon squad that includes four regular starters from a season ago. A new addition to the lineup for the first tournament of the season is freshman Scotty Kennon. He is set to make his collegiate debut this week at the Maridoe Collegiate Invitational.

Tomorrow's first round is scheduled for a 10 a.m. (ET) start as Wake Forest tees off hole one. The Demon Deacons will be paired with No. 7 Oklahoma and No. 9 Texas Tech on the opening day of play.

Additionally, the Demon Deacons have four players competing in the VCU Shootout in Marshall Meisel, BJ Rogillio, Daniel Sheedy and Clay Stirsman. The tournament runs concurrently with the Maridoe with the first round starting on Monday in Richmond, Va.
