The Miami Heat had a difficult 2020-21 NBA season. They were swept out of the first round of the playoffs by the Milwaukee Bucks, putting up a minimal fight in the process. That followed the Heat making the NBA Finals in the Orlando Bubble, so it was a disappointing outcome for sure.

Pat Riley and company were aggressive in retooling and upgrading the roster to avoid a repeat of that happening during the 2021-22 season.

Kyle Lowry was the biggest addition, as the Heat signed him to a three-year, $90 million deal. He was acquired via sign-and-trade as Goran Dragic, Precious Achiuwa, and a future second-round pick was sent to the Toronto Raptors.

Looking to upgrade the frontcourt, P.J. Tucker and Markieff Morris were signed as well. With Lowry, Tucker, and Morris leaving the Raptors, Milwaukee Bucks, and Los Angeles Lakers, respectively, Miami has added players from the last three championship teams.

The Heat paid their players lavishly, as well. Jimmy Butler received a huge extension while Duncan Robinson became the highest-paid undrafted player in NBA history, agreeing to a five-year, $90 million deal.

Miami is hoping that the team can turn things around, but they are very top-heavy. They will need to catch some breaks, and if they don’t, they could be forced to make some changes. One of those could be trading Robinson.

If that happens, as Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report mentioned, the Indiana Pacers are a potential landing spot. What could a trade between the two teams look like? Let’s take a look at a potential swap Buckley mentioned.
