Peaky Blinders Season 6: What Fans Need To Know

Peaky Blinders Season 6

Wondering when that Peaky Blinders Season 6 release date is coming? You’re not alone.

The good news is, a new season is coming! The sad news is Peaky Blinders Season 6 will be the last chapter for the series.

It’s been over two years since Season 5 aired on Netflix, and we saw Tommy’s scheme to kill Oswald Mosley backfire. And while Covid did cause some delays in production, fans have been eager for an update on the series’ return.

Peaky Blinders Season 6 Release Date

While director Anthony Byrne has noted that the dates aren’t finalized yet, star Conrad Khan recently hinted that the series will likely return in early 2022.

“That comes out, from what I last heard – I mean, these things change so quickly – I think that will come out next February, the beginning of next year,” Khan explained to Radio Times.

Kahn joins the cast officially in Season 6, and we don’t know (yet) if he’ll be a friend of the Shelby family or not. But we do know his character has lines shaved into his head to look like scars.

While that doesn’t tell us much, we know that Kahn described joining the show as a “dream come true.” So we’re excited to learn more about his character, as well as the other new characters that will be played by Stephen Graham, Rebecca Keatley, James Frecheville, and Amber Anderson.

Peaky Blinders Season 6 Filming

Peaky Blinders Season 6 began filming around March 2020, but Covid caused the production, as it did most active TV series productions, to pause.

Anthony Byrne had confirmed in January 2021 that filming had resumed. And that while Season 6 had originally been a 78-day shoot, production ended up taking longer.

Season 6 wrapped filming at the end of May 2021. The production crew tweeted out, saying, “It’s a wrap! Huge thanks to the cast and crew of #PeakyBlinders season 6. You’ve given this one everything. And it’s going to be epic …”

There are a few major outstanding questions fans have about the upcoming season, including whether or not we will see Aunt Polly Gray make an appearance. Series creator Steven Knight has commented yet on that topic, as actress Helene McCrory died earlier this year. It’s unclear if scenes were filmed before she passed, but we’re curious to see how her storyline will wrap up.

What’s Next for the Cast?

With Season 6 bringing the series to a close, the series’ actors are moving on to new projects. One of the most notable casting announcements has been with Christopher Nolan’s next film which is rumored to be a World War II drama about J. Robert Oppenheimer.

Details are scarce at the moment, but Deadline is reporting talks of Cillian Murphy being involved. Murphy has worked with Nolan on multiple films, including Inception, Dunkirk, and two of The Dark Knight films.

When Will Peaky Blinders Season 6 Air on Netflix?

While Conrad Khan teased a February release date for the series’s last season, we know that the new season will first launch on the BBC, and then it will come to Netflix.

  1. This is one series I am going to have to watch. I am definitely going to get to it very soon so can’t watch to catch up!

  2. I’ve grown to love peaky blinders. At times I feel 50/50 Thomas and Arthur for real. I could relate to certain things and it had some philosophical aspects some probably won’t even notice. It’s a series that grew on me and I even started to get my hair cut somewhat like theirs. I even called it the “Shelby” 🙂
Alfie Solomons was a pure genius and acted well. To many things I want to say. Sooooo sad to hear it’s final season 6 but can’t wait. Watched it over and over again even my parents loved it some how :/ my mum is dying to see season 6 also
10/10 and will be a legendary series I remember forever.
There’s only a handful of tv shows that can “HOOK” me in and this was definitely one of them.
