I am just glad I have a very small family after reading this. He could stay with her and just be unattached to those situations. I doubt she would understand his feelings wanting to be left out but that sounds exhausting. My husband's an introvert and has always been detached from social gatherings of any kind and I am fine with it. I would hate being manipulated into going to gatherings several times a year that I don't care a thing about.
