Summer Knits Will Be Making Waves Next Year, According To Anna Sui

As we bid farewell to summer 2021, we can rest assured that the future looks bright for our knitwear drawers. Hailey Bieber et al made a case for beach-ready, homespun goods in recent months, opting for cardis as their holiday cover-up of choice. Anna Sui’s spring/summer 2022 show hinted that the mood will linger next year, if the colourful crochet on her runway is anything to go by. 

“[Anna’s] transporting us somewhere... not necessarily a specific destination, but a place we all want to be,” declared make-up artist Pat McGrath, who provided the beauty looks for Sui’s showcase. Wanderlust arrived in the form of knitted rainbow bikinis – adorned with Polly Pocket-esque floral body jewels – flowery patchwork vests worn over sprightly patterned midis, swinging totes, and cardigans that Bieber and co will doubtless have on their wish lists for 2022 vacations.
