Nebraska woman dead after wrong-way head-on crash

PLATTE COUNTY—A Nebraska woman died in an accident just after 1a.m. Sunday in Platte County, Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2009 Toyota passenger vehicle driven by Neima M. Ali, 54, Gladstone was  southbound out of the commercial vehicle weight scale at Interstate 29 just south of Route HH.

The Toyota merged into the northbound lane of traffic and struck a 2009 Chevy passenger vehicle driven by Janine M. Brooks, 55, Omaha, head-on.

Brooks was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Forensics Medical Center in Kansas City. EMS transported Ali to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. Brooks was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.
