Inside New York Baseball: Three Mets players for the 2001 team share their stories and memories from the 9/11 attacks

(WTNH) – It may have been two decades ago, but the memories surrounding 9/11 are still vivid to those who called New York City home. The images are as painful today as they were 20 years ago.

As the city attempted to pick up the pieces, the Yankees and Mets played a big part. The Mets team of 2001 included New York native John Franco, Edgardo Alfonzo, and general manager Steve Phillips.
