Going to be a bit on the hot side, but beautiful for New York Jets-Carolina Panthers

When the New York Jets kick off against the Carolina Panthers at 1 p.m. ET inside of Charlotte, N.C.’s Bank of America Stadium, it is expected to be 83 degrees Fahrenheit with sunny skies, a zero percent chance of precipitation, 44 percent humidity, and 6 mph winds from the southwest, according to The Weather Channel. It is expected to “feel like” 84 degrees.

Temperatures should climb throughout the game but the skies will remain clear, the chance of precipitation will remain nonexistent, and the winds will remain light. The temperature is expected to climb to 85 degrees (feels like 86) by 2 p.m., 87 degrees by 3 p.m. (feels like 87) by 3 p.m., and 88 degrees (feels like 88) by 4 p.m.

No rain is expected to occur throughout the morning leading into the game, leaving a perfectly dry stadium for fans and players to walk into.

Panthers quarterback Sam Darnold has had a rough time playing in hot weather during his NFL career. Darnold owns an 0-6 record over six career starts with a kickoff temperature of 80 degrees or higher, throwing three touchdowns and 10 interceptions in those games. The competition was weak, too – five of the six teams Darnold faced in those games finished the season with a losing record.

If the 83-degree kickoff forecast holds, this will be the hottest game that the Jets have played outside of Florida (Miami or Jacksonville) since a Thursday night trip to Cleveland in Week 3 of the 2018 season. It would be their hottest season opener since an 88-degree visit to Miami in 2008.
