Latest PostThanks and goodbye
What a day. What a day.
We've had Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen crash into each other and McLaren grab their first one-two in 11 years with Daniel Ricciardo getting his first win for the team.
Now, we've just heard that Verstappen has been hit with a three-place penalty for the next race. There will be a lot of fallout from that and obviously the BBC Sport website will be all across it.
Time has beaten us for this one so thanks for all your comments and your company.
Russia, two weeks' time, for the next one. Until next time, bye for now.
BreakingVerstappen given three-place grid penalty for Russian GP
The stewards have said that Max Verstappen is to blame for the incident that took him and Lewis Hamilton out of the race.
It's a three-place penalty for Verstappen in Russia in two weeks' time.
Another win for the halo
'The incident could have been avoided'
Max Verstappen's not accepting any blame...
Ricciardo wins after Hamilton & Verstappen crash - read the report
Matt Warwick
BBC Sport
McLaren's Daniel Ricciardo won the Italian Grand Prix after a frightening crash between title rivals Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen.
Red Bull's Verstappen flipped up beside Hamilton as the pair battled for position, the rear of Verstappen's car landing on Hamilton's Mercedes, the halo head protection device possibly saving the seven-time champion from injury.
Both retired, beached in the gravel, meaning Verstappen remains five points ahead of Hamilton in the title race.
Ricciardo's British team-mate Lando Norris was second after a brilliant late overtake, handing the team a first one-two since the 2010 Canadian Grand Prix and their first victory in nearly a decade.
'Eventful'
Waiting for the stewards
Jennie Gow
BBC Radio 5 live pit-lane reporter
Hoping we’ll get a decision from the stewards soon. Will be fascinating to see what they say. If anyone gets a penalty - the rules say it would be grid places for the next race. Given how tight the championship fight is at the moment, that would be big.

Lots for our experts to talk about today. The Chequered Flag Podcast will be available on the BBC Sport Formula 1 pages later on. Don't miss it.
'Racing incident'
Race winner Daniel Ricciardo has just been shown the incident between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton and tells Sky Sports: "This, 100% not just being diplomatic, I think it's a racing incident.
"These kerbs bounce the cars. You only know when it's too late. I'd say that's a racing incident."
Where next?
In these uncertain times, who knows how many more races we will get to see in 2021?
Eight are scheduled, although one of those is still to be confirmed.
It's Russia next, in two weeks' time.
What a weekend for McLaren
An almost-perfect weekend for McLaren. They got one point in the sprint race, 25 for Daniel Ricciardo's win, 18 for Lando Norris' second and an extra bonus point for Ricciardo's fastest lap.
They are 10 points ahead of Ferrari and in third in the drivers' championship.
Valtteri Bottas' third stretches Mercedes' lead at the top to 18 points.
How they stand
Obviously no change today at the top of the drivers' championship, but Max Verstappen is two points further ahead of Lewis Hamilton than what he was at the start of the weekend as a result of coming second in Saturday's sprint race.
Daniel Ricciardo moves up to eighth with his win today.
'No remorse from Verstappen on the radio'
Jolyon Palmer
Former Renault driver on BBC Radio 5 Live
This is a time when both drivers are fighting so hard they are excepting a crash before backing out of a manoeuvre.
The interesting things was Verstappen's radio directly after the crash. There was no remorse, no sorry to the team, no 'it was Lewis' fault'. It was almost the comments of retribution from Verstappen.

'Back, baby'
'Crash could've been very serious'
Jolyon Palmer
Former Renault driver on BBC Radio 5 Live
Without the halo, the crash could've been very serious. The actual impact speed was in the slowest part of the circuit where they have come together.
But I think because Verstappen was already bouncing slightly over the kerb, when he hit Hamilton, it lifted his car up, right up, and over where the halo is. The halo, which is really strong, appears to have taken a lot of the weight of Verstappen's car.
There will be a massive investigation and it looks like the halo has paid its dues today.
'Don't have to have blame every crash'
Jack Nicholls
BBC Radio 5 Live F1 commentator
There doesn't have to blame for every crash. We're not here for insurance purposes.
We want to see these racing drivers going wheel-to-wheel on the track and that's the fun of motor racing - the excitement is they might crash because they are that close, going that fast.
That is sort of the whole purpose of motor racing, so you don't have to have a blame every time, I don't think.
Looking stunned
Lando is now only nine points behind Valtteri Bottas, who is third in the drivers' championship.
'I never left'
Always great to see the biggest smile in motorsport. And Daniel Ricciardo has a lot to smile about today.
Post update
Both Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton have headed to the stewards.
The Drive to Survive television cameras have been at Monza today, we need to see some footage of what has been said at these stewards' meetings!
