M40 Traffic: Crash today in Warwickshire leaves lanes closed as emergency repairs take place

There are delays on the M40 motorway in Warwickshire following a crash today (Sunday, September 12) that has left lanes closed.

Two lanes are shut to traffic on the southbound carriageway and one lane is shut northbound between Junction 12 (Gaydon) and Junction 13 (Leamington Spa).

National Highways, which reported the collision and closure at around 9.45am, said there are delays of around 40 minutes on the M40.

A National Highways spokesman said: "The M40 in BOTH directions J12 (Gaydon B4451) to J13 (Leamington Spa A452 B4100) 2 lanes on the southbound and 1 lane on the northbound have been closed due to a collision. Maintenance Crews are currently at the scene repairing the barrier that was damaged."
