Manchester City are starting to look for replacements for club legend and veteran Fernandinho who looks set to leave the club post the end of the 2021/22 season. The 37-year-old will not be an easy player for Pep Guardiola to replace but the former Bayern Munich and Barcelona boss has got a name in mind.

Jude Bellingham has been termed as a ‘generational talent’ by many and it is simply because he is performing in high-pressure situations at the age of 18. The English midfielder has proven that he has got a cool head between his shoulders and it just proves why Gareth Southgate is keen on placing faith in the Borussia Dortmund man.

While Bellingham chose Dortmund over a move to Manchester United last summer, the 18-year-old is said to be open to a return to English football. The former Birmingham City player joined Dortmund for a fee of £25 million and has grown a lot as a player since then.

Bellingham even managed to impress Pep Guardiola last season against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals. Having said that, it is not going to be easy for the defending Premier League champions to land the 18-year-old.

The Sun reports that Liverpool are also interested in signing the English talent next summer, particularly after an underwhelming 2021 summer window wherein the former Premier League champions failed to make any signings apart from Ibrahima Konate.

While Liverpool still have a very strong squad, their bench depth is not boast-worthy, especially when compared with the bench-strength of Chelsea, Manchester United, and Manchester City.

Dortmund are expected to demand a fee in the range of £80 million and with Jurgen Klopp said to be massively in favor of bringing in the 18-year-old to Anfield next summer, Liverpool could well smash or equal their own transfer record.

Do you think Manchester City will go after Bellingham or would the Sky Blues rather focus their attention on his teammate, Erling Haaland?
