There were plenty of reasons to smile in Bloomington Saturday, and head coach Tom Allen even got in on the action!

Coming off a disappointing Week 1 showing, Indiana squared off against Idaho for the home opener in Week 2. It was a game dominated by the Hoosiers as the team rolled to an early 21-0 first quarter lead.

The team rolled to a 56-14 rout of the Vandals behind a strong performance by the special teams. Javon Swinton scored on a blocked punt while D.J. Matthews scored on a long punt return touchdown.

However, it was a play by Allen on the sideline that stole the highlights late in the game. A throw by Idaho made its way out of bounds on the fly and directly in the direction of Indiana’s head coach. He never panicked, flashing his hands and perfect form with an emphatic spike.

Hopefully, the Week 2 romp was enough to get Indiana right for the rest of the season. The Hoosiers get a tough Week 3 visit from No. 7 Cincinnati.
