As DeAndre Jordan exits the Brooklyn Nets, the big man will keep something that can never get traded: His brotherhood with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. In the summer of 2019, the three got together and agreed to join forces on the Nets. Despite getting traded after only two seasons with each other as teammates, the 33-year-old reaffirmed his relationship with Durant and Irving is deeper than basketball in a video news conference on Thursday:

“We’re friends before basketball, after basketball and I think ultimately we all just want to be happy and being able to compete is something that’s very important to me. And they understand that. And we’re brothers beyond basketball, so us being teammates or not isn’t going to reflect on or affect our relationship.”

On Jordan’s new team, the Los Angeles Lakers, he is set to have some memorable matchups against Brooklyn. The Nets and the Lakers are favorites to win it all next season and if push comes to shove, they will meet on the main stage. Of course, this will only make life a whole lot sweeter for the three.
